I have a 2010 which will occasional have a loud bump/clunk on acceleratoin. I thought at first it was from brake on frt left but wives cousin thought was coming more from center transmission area ?? doesnt happen consistently but is a concern , I have 35,300 on the car and am thinking I may have made a mistake I have more trouble with this car then any car I have owned. I get a lot of compliments but this is concerning . Any thoughts appreciated.

Could be the PTU. There are some TSB's out for it and sounds like you would be getting a new one. Take it to the stealership and let them take a look at it, it would be covered under warranty.

Not that you want to delay getting this fixed, but keep in mind that while the bumper to bumper expires at 36k miles, the powertrain warranty extends beyond that (don't recall the time/distance) and the PTU should be part of the powertrain.

God good luck to you - had some of the same issues except I could not replicate it on demand so neither of two dealers I took it to would fix it. Yes I mentioned the TSB, response was "we're not cracking open a transmission without witnessing the problem" or similar. Short story that and other issues resulted in me selling the car.

SOME people on here apparently get TSBs done no questions asked. You might consider looking up those posts and possibly trying to go to the same dealers if it is remotely feasible. But there definitely is an issue there and supposedly a fix as well though not everyone who did have it done was thrilled either.

That is true about some dealers. I would go to one dealer and I would get a lot of resistance about TSB's if they couldn't replicate an "intermittent" problem. I would go across town and they would perform it no questions asked.

I looked at the list of TSB which would be the one to most likely address this issue. I like one of the others who replied am considering getting rid of car because of this.
