What is the absolute easiest way to replace the clutch on a 92 SHO. I have been told that you have to remove the engine. Is this true, or are there alternate ways to get the transmission out. I am a student and really don't have the money to take it somewhere, and I have replaced clutches before, just not on this car. Anybody with any information, thanks alot.

I beleive you remove the subframe and do the job by dropping the tranny. You need to find something to support th engine with while the subframe and tranny is out.

Here is a topic showing a basic engine support and here is the topic showing how to make it. You can rent or buy engine mounts from many auto and tool supply stores. The remainder of my clutch and transaxle service pictures are in this topic.

Corey before you venture into this job click on the SHO NUT link in my signature and order the clutch replacement video. You will see many parts that are accessible during the clutch video that can be replaced (motor mounts, subframe bushings, rear main seal, crank carrier gasket, sway bar endlinks...and others). Josh (Co-owner of SHO NUT Performance) also gives great tips that should make the replacement an easier process.
