Climate Control

Hello Everyone,

I replaced the battery on my 1994 SHO ATX yesterday and now the climate control module is flickering on and off. The system does not engage but the lights keep flickering. I noticed this when I accelerate and even when the SHO is idling.

What could cause this? Fuse? Is the module on it's way out? Anyone else experience this issue? Fix?

I just went through that problem last month. Turned out to be a weak battery from making lots of short trips. Had the alternator checked and it was good, gave the battery a good, slow, overnight trickle and the problem was corrected.

I had the same problem when I bought my 94 SHO...it turned out my alternator was shot and the battery was too. I replaced both...and I was good to go!

Currently the alternator is newer (3 months installed) and so is the battery (6 days installed).
The old battery started to leak, I changed the battery immediately. Could the old battery have caused havoc on my electrical system?

Just an update: It turned out to be the alternator. I was over charging the new battery causing it to leak. The internal regulator had gone bad. Changed the alternator and had to replace some fuses in the fuse box located under the steering wheel.
Time will tell how long this new alternator will last.
