Anyone have the problem of all the buttons being smashed or busted?
How can I fix these?
Its kinda annoying at nite when the white lights are blaring thru the button holes.
Any ideas aside from replacing the whole bloody unit?

I personally just took some black electrical tape and cut it to the size of the buttons. It covered the hole.....and took the lettering away....but it no one has noticed yet.

I think it's the best and easiest solution.

I know someone did a write up on how to fix them in the open forum one time. Tried a sarch and couldn't find it though. Very detailed with pics. Anyone know what happened to it?

I too am having this problem with my unit. I would like to use a small amount of epoxy on the back side of the buttons, but I am not sure if this would be the best remidy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Oh, one other thing. Has anyone tried aftermarket seats in the SHO like a recaro or sparco? Is it a tough job to do right?

I fixed the ones in my 1991 SHO. I know a ford dealer. They had some of these units that were recalled in 1995 sitting on the shelf. I just took the good buttons out. Then I used a yellow gel, used for stage lighting. Place the yellow gel inbetween the button and the clear plastic holding piece. Voila! What once lit up as a blue button now matches the rest of the existing green buttons.
