I have an 89 SHO with the 3 **** climate control. When on the vents setting, it doesnt blow very hard even though you can here the blow motor goin pretty good. On max a/c it gets better but only slightly. I have shut the two passenger side vents and its now where I feel like it should normally be. Is there something wrong or out of adjustment or is that just normal? Any help or insight would be great.

there are a couple of possibilities I can think of - First, the doors that direct the air are moved by vacuum, so if the vacuum to the hvac control is weak, it may not pull hard enough to move the door all the way. Second, there may be something fallen inside the diverter that prevents the door from moving all the way. Third, there may be debris in the little tubes that the air moves through.

I have had mouse nests in the tubes that would reduce the airflow in some vehicles, so that is one thing to be aware of. You can check for the first two issues by feeling if there is still significant air moving from the other locations (floor, defrost) when you have it set to the vents setting.

so that suggests you have blockage in the tubes or maybe even one of the tubes is cut/broken so the air leaks out under the dash.
