I've posted about this problem before and haven't found an answer to my problem. I've made a couple of quick videos of what happens with the Climate control. Here is the first one:
http://www.zambrana.com/mpt/sho_problem_1.htm
On this video, the climate control is not working at all until I use the blinker and then the climate control blinks on and off with the blinker.
The second video:
http://www.zambrana.com/mpt/sho_problem_2.htm
This one shows the climate control working until I take off, then it goes blank. Then when I put the brakes on, the climate control comes back on.
Has anyone had this problem before? And how did you fix it? This has been driving me crazy!
Thanks,
Mike, 95 ATX, Red, 136k

Thanks, Steve! Yeah, got caught! Listening to JC since he's back.

I guess since no one has posted - must be something that's not a normal "problem" with the SHO. I guess I'll break down and let the local electrical shop near here have it for a few days.
I'll post whatever they find what is wrong whenever I get it into the shop, won't be right away, though (I've been driving it like this for awhile now).

Good luck with it.

I looked at the electrical diagrams and could not quickly see anything in common. I got interupted and didn't see if there was a common grounding point for the signals and the ETAC.

My best guess without looking at it is that either you have a bad ground in the dash, there is a loose connection, or maybe even an intermittent short circuit between the circuits.

I'm glad JC is back. I missed him... I wonder how long before he gets fired this time?

Steve
btw, I'm in Florissant...

Thanks for looking, Steve. I replaced the blend door actuator awhile back, but I didn't have this problem until way after I did that. But I did have the dash totally apart to get to the blend door acuator, so maybe there is something to your diagnosis of a loose connection or a bad ground somewhere. I did re-check the connections at the steering column, but that didn't seem to be it. Maybe I'll take the dash apart again to check (in my spare time!).
Thanks again!

Yeah, I missed him, too. I'm glad he's back, makes the drive into work seem a little shorter.

Florissant, huh? Maybe when I try and do some work on the SHO, you might want to lend a hand? Or vice-versa? I do alot of the work myself - only when things break - so I've fixed alot of stuff!!! The one thing I haven't done (for maintenance) is the valve lash adjustment. Kind of intimidating, but I'm sure it's not that bad. Just getting the tools and misc. crap is the hard part.
I also have noticed that there are alot of SHO's in this area!
Anyway, sorry to ramble, thanks again.

Mine did the same thing, but it was somehow related to some aftermarket alarm installed on the car. Found some toggle switch by the alarm module and it stopped doing it.

Hey guys, my ac has been acting up too. i did notice the battery light was on but very faint. i saw it in the dark. the battery was only a couple months old so i took it to AAP to check and they came back with a good battery, but it was overcharging just a little. So i took off the alternator and had that tested and BAM.....it Failed!!! Replaced the alternator fro $176.00 and now NO CRAZY ELECRTICAL PROBLEMS any more. Hpoe this helps!!!!!
