Did you unplug your maf sensor that hooks to the top of the air box?

Where, exactly, was the "computer componet" and where did you move it? It was likely either the air charge temperature (ACT) sensor on the passenger side of the lower air filter box casing with its red tip or the mass air flow (MAF) sensor on the intake hose above the upper lid of the filter box. Has the CHECK ENGINE light illuminated since the engine started running poorly?
