Got the tie rods replaced today and the car doesn't shake anymore nor is the steering sloppy; however, I still have a "snoring" sound (low tone) with a clicking noise coming from the front end only on deceleration. You can almost feel it if your foot is on the gas (just resting there, not accelerating). Obviously this isn't related to the tie rods. It's really hard to explain the noise and I think it does it clutch in or out but when you step on the gas it goes away.

I may take a video and post it on here. The front spring/strut tower made a groaning type noise when we were turning it (working on the tie rods) but I don't think this is it. The car can be going straight or turning and it does ti I'm pretty sure.

I may have our mechanic friend look at it since he did an awesome job with the tie rods.

Anyone know what this could be? I drove the car some this weekend and it doesn't matter if the clutch it in or not. It typically clicks/vibrates in the gas pedal when you're letting off the gas (but have your foot resting on it). It sounds like a rapid knocking sound with the vibrating pedal accompanying it. (No it's not rod bearings-everyone associates the word "knock" with that). It's coming from the front suspension I think. It can also be accompanied by a groaning/snoring type sound. It doesn't do it all the time but most of the time. Very strange.

I didn't notice CV axles being loose when working on the tie rods a couple weeks ago. Now that the car drives smooth and straight, I'm gradually going on to the next items on the list (which is to fix any noises the car is making that it's not supposed to).

this sounds like a problem with something that rotates......

from tire, loose center cap, lugnuts/studs/rotor... anything that spins if its a clicking type noise like putting a card in a bycycle wheel.......

this may sound redundant but you'd be suprised

I'd atleast check all that stuff twice and make sure its all tight, nothing is put on wrong, check that caliper and hardware that everything works properly and is tight, make sure no debris on the pads and everything is seated properly........ maybe pick the front end up, take off the wheels and run it through a gear and see if it makes the noise then.... if you can make it happen it will be easier to hear it and isolate the noise....... if the noise is gone maybe its a wheel/lugnut/stud issue........

noises are hard to guess, you just have to look at everything it could possibly be
