More pics and video to come. I got home last night late, and only got 3 hrs sleep during the race.

The brief summary:

The race was fun. The car was awesome. We set the hot lap time for the race on the long course and were running in a very strong second place through about the first half of the race. While working on the short course lap record, we fried the front brakes and had to make an unscheduled pit stop. That put us back into fourth place where we ran for the rest of the race.

We were the fastest car there, and had some awesome dicing action with a couple other teams. No penalties, no contact, and no one one said they spun.

Until more pics are posted, you can go to the facebook page if you want.

It was a lot of fun, Dave and I couldn't stop talking about the race for just about the whole drive home. We have to thank all the guys for the hard work desire to put this together. A little work on the pit stops and some very minor suspension tweeks and brake ducts and we would have been in the hunt for sure.

I cant wait to see some in car vids.:munch:

I was just looking at www.mylaps.com and we actually ran from lap 228 - 251 in 1st place. I don't think the transponder accounts for the silly bonus laps and such. But you can't see the lap times unless you register the transponder with the site and we just had a rental.

Mike,

Congrats. 24hrs of racing has to be so difficult, especially at 3am.

How did you guys like racing with the Chump Car organization? I went to watch the Texas race and everyone I talked to said it was as good or better than LeMons. Better because they didn't have to deal with the B.S. judging and the bribes.

Chump Car guys are top knotch, and we do enjoy racing with them because they are less sadistic with the penalties and judging. It is more about racing and having fun.

Yeah that's what I heard when I was at TMS in Denton in June. Everyone said it was run by racers for racers, without the drama of the bribes and judges crazy pentalties.

If ChumpCar comes to Texas World Speedway like I heard at the race, I would be signing up to give them a try. LeMons can save the drama for their Mama!!!

I drove in the Chump Car race up here in Ontario Canada in the early summer ... I'd agree, overall it is less b.s. than the Lemons racing.

And endurance racing is just that ... endurance!! Don't worry about lap records, it's all about being there at the front of the pack on the last lap. ;)

cheers
