The time has come to replace the clutch in my 1994 SHO. With the modifcations listed in my signature would it be a bad idea to use a stock clutch? What clutch would everyone here recommend and how much would I be looking to spend on a clutch? Send any links to the clutches you would purchase or companies that offer the best deals. Thanks so much. (How many hrs. labor is a clutch in this car?)

A stock clutch would be just fine for your mods, however something a little more reinforced would get you by also and would come in at about $50 over the price of a stock clutch and TOB.

We offer the Clutchamaster's stage I clutch on our site which will take more abuse than stock and we include a revision B TOB with it.

Other than that, stock is fine for your mods. :)

for a little more than the price of a stock clutch set, the SouthBend Rally clutch is a nice upgrade.

Question 1:How would stock clutch hold up to y-pipe, EH runners, BBB's?

Question 2: How would stock clutch hold up to above PLUS +20 cams and a tweecer to get everything nice?

I'm always gentle to launch. I only mash the gas after the car is in motion. 100,000 miles on the stock clutch that's in there right now. Since I'm going to do the clutch work myself it doesn't matter if the next one doesn't reach that kind of mileage (it's always easier replacing something the second time around). But I don't want unwelcome clutch failure early on...or even after 10, 20, or 30,000 miles.

The stock clutch can hold alot of power, probably 275+hp at the flywheel. It's hard launches and power shifting that'll break the straps and/or glaze the disc. If your sure you can maintain your current driving style then it should do you well. But how many of us can honestly promise ourselves that with new-found power on tap? ;)

Thanks Bryce! That's good news to me! I'll just have to make a bet with myself regarding the old man style shifting practices. Loser installs a new clutch. :p
