Bought my car in October and it’s given me nothing but issues. I knew I’d be getting into a bit of a project given that this car was a couple grand under the average for its year and mileage (‘13 @ 72k) but in 2 months and only 2000 miles, i’ve had my PTU blow up at the gasket, had an engine throw a rod bearing, and now i’m hearing a squeaking noise when coasting.

It goes away when i apply the throttle or brake, but i can’t figure out what it is. It doesn’t quite sound like any wheel bearing issues i’ve heard before. it’s like a short, repetitive chirp. i have plenty of pad on my brakes as well, but it does sound cyclical, like it’s coming from a wheel. I plan to install a big brake kit soon anyways, but does anybody have any ideas on what it might be?

I get it when my brakes heat up from my passenger rear wheel. Anti rattle clips not doing their job. Mine is more a squeeling sound.

My belief not hearing or seeing it in action will go away once you replace the oem equipment out.

I found out it was the brake hardware that had shifted in between the pad and the caliper, it was just barely rubbing the rotor. i’m assuming the reason i didn’t hear it under pressure was because it was just enough force to pull the clip away from the rotor
