My 94 automatic had been sitting in the garage for about a month. Yesterday I took a ride on the NJ Turnpike. I pulled out of the toll booth and took the car up to about 6000 rpm in second before the tranny shifted. The check engine light came on for about 10 seconds, then went off, then came on again for a few seconds and then turned off again. It did not come on again for the rest of the drive. I was driving normally at about 65 mph on level ground. The light has never come on before. The oil level is full, I had changed the oil the day before. Is there anything else I should check?

When the CEL comes on the computer throws a code. You can check these by the triangle shaped plug on the passenger side firewall, that says EEC on it. Shotimes.com has a good how to on reading codes.

Whoah...check thoes codes before you go replacing anything. The computer is trying to tell you something's wrong, now you just have to get it to 'talk' to you.
