I have a 93 ATX SHO with 114k on it. The car runs fine except when you get on the highway at cruise speed. The check engine light comes on and dosen't go off until I get off the highway and slow down. It never comes on unless I am driving at highway speeds (70mph). I can drive all day long in town (30-50mph) all day and never see the light come on. What could be causing this? Thanks in advance!

Welcome aboard! The only way to know for sure is to pull the codes.

Is there a way to pull the codes without a scantool?
I've been a GN owner for the past 5 years. I love turbo cars, but I've always wanted an SHO. When my wife and I got rid of her Mustang I decided to get the SHO. I can't say enough about the car. It's the perfect family car for the person that wants something different. The SHO is my wife's car and the GN is my toy.

Same thing happened to my '95' ATX but buddy at the Ford dealer scanned it and turned out to be the Hego sensor (O2)
Good Luck

O2 sensors and a clogged EGR caused the same problem for me but the EGR code didn't pop up. See where the codes get you.

Thanks guys for the replies. I was thinking the same thing. I haven't had the time to pull the codes but I'll keep you posted.
