check engine light issue

Ok, so my check engine light sometimes comes on when driving on the highway when I lift off the gas after I floor it.. It usually didn't bug me so I have been ignoring it. Today I was driving and my check engine light kept coming on then off, and the engine felt a big sluggish and hesitant... Without knowing any codes... what would you suggest this might be? I also noticed that my fuel pump seamed a bit noisy then usally, maybe because i was paranoid what was going on with the car.. so maybe my fuel pump is going? i dunno.. any ideas? Its a 94 ATX

Just pull the codes - there is a how-to on shotimes.com

My guess would be o2 sensors, but its easy to pull the codes and then you aren't guessing....

I have a 93 mtx and it has the same problem but when i cruise for a while and goes away after i get on it and it has a cat delete in it and i think it is the 02 sensors also.

As suggested, start by checking the codes. Any other guessing is a waste of time until seeing what the computer has to say about why it keeps turning the CEL on. There is a link in my signature with easy DIY instructions to read your codes.

Let us know what you find and then we can help you further with diagnosing the issue(s).
