Check automatic transmission fluid?

I got a buddy of mine that owns a 95 ATX, and the transmission is slipping badly. I thought i would check the fluid to see if it was alright before going any more in depth. But i cannot find the dipstick. So how do i check the fluid? I am NOT! an ATX guy

Look by and below the EGR valve, it will be a black loop to grab and pull up.

yes it is black...great idea to paint the dipstick black when its sits in the shadows behind everything already.

drivers side rear of engine bay, between brake master cyl, and engine intake manifold.

check with car running in park.
