How difficult is it to change a window motor? The one window on the '94 is bad from when it was broken into. One of the rear windows also doesn't move at all. I suspect that that may be due to a switch or connection, but worst case I could change that one too, if necessary.

my 93 has been sitting a warehouse for just under a year when i pulled it out of there, i've doing major fabrications for it, and all my windows dont work accept for drivers, note that all windows worked perfectly before. So i cleaned a switches and they work perfectly now. Before swapping motors clean the switch and see it it works.

do cleanign the switces make the windows move faster or just start workign again becasue mine are very slow and someitmes need a little push to get all the way up. Would cleanign the switch make them work better and how do you clean the switch. No to hijack the thread or anyhting but it seems to fit the thread anyway.

My rear passenger window wont move at all, the door switch on that door does nothing, The "master control" at my door wont make it move either, It worked forever and just radomly failed.. Think the contacts are bad??

What needs to be cleaned to make them work..If the motor isnt shot?

Actually, both of these items are of interest. Here's what I have:

'94 Passenger Front - Weak motor from break in
'94 Rear (forget which) - Won't move on either switch, worked before
'95 Rear Driver - Only moves with door switch or master only goes up.

So the '95 needs a switch cleaning, and the '94 needs at least one motor replacement, and possibly some switch cleaning. The '94 has 3/5 gimpy "windows".

For that matter, is there anything that can be done to improve window function on the good windows, like replacing the grease?

new motors would help the speed alot...back to high speed of the early '90's ford standards anyways! (newer cars with power windows are pretty quick)

the motors them selves are simple to replace, only 2 bolts i think hold them onto the track assembly. i replaced a rear motor on my car last summer, i pulled the old one to see it was rusted to itself...

You are absolutely right the contacts go bad, they are copper and because they get used they have a gentle area prone to corrrosion easily from simplest moisture. To clean them i usualy grab some high grit sand paper like 400 or 600 and stick it in between contacts after you take the switch appart. VERY easy to do.

I tried to clean the switchin my car for the pass front. It was discolored. I used a piece of 180 or so and it still didn't work.. I got the switch out of the parts car at the JY and the driver side rear doesnt' work. I can work with that better than the pass front for now...
