My sho has been sitting for 10 years at least, after health related problems, now being able to do what I need to,I have put a camera down tank but cannot get down into filler neck directly from tank, filler pipe NO prob.just last 4 in. No sloshing shaking the car, this fuel is highly evaporative being 10% ethanol. Just added new fuel filter, new gaskets especially spark tube grommets, new timing belt. Just want to ascertain will be good to turn over? Sea foam?

You won't have success either siphoning gas or inspecting with a boroscope - the tank has an anti-siphon valve/screen to prevent fuel theft.

If you want to get into the tank, in-car instead of dropping it (to inspect it for corrosion, vacuum out the last of the gas, or access the fuel pump), you can follow the procedure to cut an access panel under the back seat.

If you simply pump out the gas, you will only leave behind a few quarts. Then fueling with 17 gallons, and jumpering the fuel pump on with the same procedure will flush the lines and any remaining old gas through the fuel rail and back through the tank return.

This has probably been covered elsewhere, but for future reference, if a car is going to sit:
  • it's important to have the tank full. This limits the amount of air that moves in/out with local pressure changes, therefore limits the amount of condensation.
  • try to find non-ethanol fuel. It's possible that you are close enough to a source to make it worthwhile. Look on https://www.pure-gas.org/. Some places that carry race fuel will also have non-ethanol products. I'm pretty sure this list is not exhaustive as I have seen pumps that state non-ethanol closer than these.
  • use a fuel stabilizer. There are several sold in auto parts stores. These claim to keep even ethanol containing fuels in better shape. When you are ready to use the vehicle, add a water getter.

Thanks for suggestion high octane fuel like you get near airports is out of range. I'm either just dropping it or try my phone camera sub 8mm to check out the tank after I pull filler neck off. I'm pretty home bound right now and will just use Sea Foam...

I wouldn't put anything in the fuel tank or system except gasoline and Motorcraft fuel injector cleaner. I think your concerns about the tank are not warranted, except for the old fuel, which can be removed.

I've successfully started and ran cars on 10 year old gas and no problems. I've also had problems... bad pump and need new filter, gummy fuel. I don't think you'll hurt anything by trying to run it. If it does, run in out and mix in some new.

I already have tank out, the gallon or two in it was rusty a$$ red and the pump assembly was corroded and rusted the strainer was broke, I bought a tank a while ago so I just got to get the fuel pump assembly put it on,fill her up, timing is done, spark plug tubes cleaned with extra long needle noses and shop towels.
Now I just need to find the two heater lines that the hoses go onto out from the core, and not having luck finding the hot water one with the temp sensor or the one with bracket and compression hosed attachment like the low side of a.c. hose where its pressed on no clamp holds it,if I knew how to post a pic I would.94 sho 3.2l

Used is putting up a "Want to buy" ad, or simply look at the classifieds for "parting out" ads.

I imagine someone could fabricate a replacement for these 5/8" tubes, but I don't know where to begin shopping, or what automotive specialty place to consult. The one without the cold engine lockout switch could be replaced with just rubber hose if you add supports to keep it away from EGR and exhaust and enforce the bend. It still needs 5/8 to 3/4 adapter though.
