My father changed his water pump and lower radiator hose on a '94 ATX. After finishing the job, following the instructions off of shotimes.com, he took the car for a drive and everything seemed normal. Next day ( today ) he took the car to work and made it about 5 miles before the car began to overheat. He turned the car around and brought it back home. He said that oil was boiling out of the spark plug wells and running down the front of the engine. Now after cooling off, the car runs fine, but the low coolant light is on and all of the coolant out of the overflow bottle is gone. he says that there is no coolant leaking out of the lower radiator hose or the water pump area. what could have happend?

I would have to say he didn't get the air out of the system. You should have the car running while adding coolant with the rad cap left open until the car is in operating temp. Squeezing the upper rad hose while its warming up will also help rid the air.
