I thought my o/d off light was burnt out so I took the cluster out. It was actually good so I checked all my other lights. In the process I was looking at what it would take to change the color of the cluster from green to blue.

The cluster is already blue. What gives it the green glow is the bulbs. Apparently the 194 bult has a bit of yellow to it.

Is there a bulb that is pure white? I'll do some research in case no one is aware of one.

EDIT:
Found some led bulbs in super white, cool white (blue tint), and blue

Debating on the super white and blue. The white would let the needles have thier intended color while illuminating the rest in blue. I think the blue would make everything including the needles have a blue glow.

Temporary Setup Complete

I replaced the 5 194 bulbs for illumination on the instrument cluster with 194B (blue bulbs). The cluster glows a nice blue now instead of the green. When the bulbs were out I shined my led flashlight in the holes, and it was still blue. The main difference is the needles were white.

The blue bulbs are temporary until I can get some white LED blubs or cool white LED bulbs. The cool white would have a hint of blue to them so the needles would have a hint of blue while the rest of the cluster was dark blue.

I also put a 194B in the socket for the gear indicator on the floor shifter (automatic.) That was also a nice touch.

I'll try to get a couple pictures tomorrow night. I just finished it all up about an hour ago, came in to kids being fussy (not feeling well). I was not about to tell my wife "I'll be right back. I need to take the car to where it's dark and shoot some pictures." I'd be building the doghouse for me to sleep in.

No to brainstorm for the Fog Light/Dash Radio Controls/Rear Defroster illumination.

Yes, the gauge overlays are blue (same with gen 3's), the green color comes from the mixture of the blue overlays + the yellowish incandescent bulbs (which basically all incandescent bulbs are yellowish) as you have discovered. Best bet is to pick up some LEDs, and I don't think you'll ever find TRUE TRUE white. I have had blue LEDs in my slo since 2005 or 6, I ordered them from superbrightleds.com

As for turning everything else in the car blue, it's all about finding the right LEDs and being able to solder well. I believe a person or two on the forum has changed everything over to blue, even the EATC digital display and digital clock (used blue film).

The problem with LEDs is you don't get an even spread of light like you do with regular bulbs. So you'll get dim spots on your dash.

I experimented with putting LEDs into an EATC. I didn't have good luck with it. The EATC will be the challenge since the bulbs don't come in LED. You'll have to get creative.

I was looking at the same site. If you check out the link below they have natural white which would be like that from a led maglight I would imagine.

The EATC was done using plastic from a blue cd case I believe. I'm checking around for options as well as a place to get blue film for the other stuff.

Not interested in changing the window control color. Want to change the fog light on from orange to yellow.

With bulbs like the ones in the link below, it would minimize the dim spots. Not bad either @ $3 a bulb. 5 Bulbs @ $3 = $15 + shipping
