From a quality mfr, def worth it. Some can last 7 years, typically 3 tho. Maintenance becomes much simpler, key being a proper wash. Be sure to get the wheels coated too. If you like, you can put wax over the coating, you should ask which ones work best with the coating you get. Some people do not like the extreme mirror like shine with coatings, and add wax to get that "glow". So all kinds of stuff depending on how far you want to get into it.

I have a 5 year ceramic pro package on mine. Couldnt be happier Ditto on getting the wheels coated too. Makes cleaning soooo easy!

Yeah, however....that should include. Wash, Strip, Clay Bar, Compound, Buff, Degrease, Prep, and Commercial Ceramic Spray Applicaiton.

I did all of that on my black SHO minus the Ceramic Coat, and it took me 16 hours.

I did my SHO myself with EnviroShield by Duragloss. It's supposed to last for two years. I did everything but the glass....even the lower plastic trim.

I agree that you need to wash and clay bar...but the included "Squeaky Clean" that comes in the Enviroshield kit ensures that the surface is clean and ready to accept the coating.

I blow most of the water off after washing, but when touching up the remaining water I use another great product by Duragloss called Aquawax.

The kit costs something like $55. I do the top surfaces twice and was able to do my former Lincoln, the SHO, Excursion and Viper with one kit.

Way too much for a SHO-sized vehicle, even with 3 layers of polishing. Prob did not want to do it or (hopefully not) trying to make an ez buck. Coatings ARE expensive but not THAT expensive.

I feel a brand new car done before crap in paint is a good idea. Quality jobs can be had for 500 or less. Becomes much more when they have to prep the paint in order to do it. If you have the time and energy and can clean car yourself as in clay bar etc , you can purchase quality ceramic products and DIY for less then 60 bucks. It's all in the prep! I would NOT reccomend a 2700 dollar ceramic job. Sounds like car needed body work first before application. Some of my friends paid 300 for a quality detail then did a 60 dollar ceramic DIY. It is now coming up on a year and they REALLY look good. I would do it that way if I did it, but I really enjoy waxing my car. Mine is a black SHO and looks like a mirror with a glass like finish. I use collinite 476s

Absolutely worth it, I spent all day prepping mine to do it. I couldn't believe the difference. If it's new it's much easier and less time consuming. They also sell products to keep up the coating and shine.

Hey there sgtmeatsauce1 if you use collinite you should try the 915 Marque D’ Elegance it’s for blacks and darker colors. So deep ! Like you could fall into it. I used the 476s double coat on my whites and silver town cars. So nice

I had mine done in 2010, $1800 resold service by by the dealer, lasted for about 5 years. Don't remember the name of it. Car was very easy to keep clean, I was often accused of washing it daily, though was often only washed once per month.
I had it done again last year for $600, holding up well, but can tell it was a cheaper product, will have to be redone next year.
Long term, keeping a car looking like new... Definitely worth it.

does all the wax need to be striped off before you use it. i mean a polymer type wax

Yes, it has to be cleaned down to the clear coat. That's why you clay bar and prep it.

That's about average for a vehicle the size of the SHO. You have to remember the prep is the hardest part. ****** prep means it'll look bad.

If it's a shop, ask to see other customers vehicles. Almost every shop has before and after shots. Customers reviews etc.

My son has had to do vehicles over that shops have screwed up. And he charges from 500 to 1k depending on vehicles size and how bad it is.
