I was wondering how to remove the center console. I am going to be taking out my carpet and need to know how. It looks like there are two nuts on each side of the console covered by plastic pieces. Are there any more to remove to get that thing out? thanks everyone!

Unscrew the shifter **** and remove. You will have to "pop" the shifter panel up and slide it off the shifter shaft. This will expose two screws. There are also two more screws below a panel at the aft end of the console, under a removeable rectangular door. The door just snaps off.

What Scott said, there is more to it though. The wiring for the console courtesy light is held in by clips at various spots in the console, and a metal floor bracket that's right in front of the cupholder. Once you undo the screws upfront and under the armrest, there's one more bolt behind the shifter to remove. Then you can remove the cupholder portion (it snaps off along the seam, just like the shifter frame). This'll make it easier to remove the wire.
