Since I'm working on my intake, I bought a used intake to through on my car for a little bit. I did the valve adjust this weekend as well as replaced my clutch among a few other things.

Anyways, all day Saturday and Sunday the car was fine... idle was a bit rough but I attributed that to the really dirty temporary intake. Yesturday after driving around for a bit, the CEL came on. I had no noticable problems. The light came on and went off a few times. If I restarted the car it wouldn't come back on for a while... but it's totally random.

So today I swapped IAB's with my other intake, drove her around for about an hour, and all was fine, no light. About 5 minutes from my house it comes back on and then goes off again.

I've checked for codes and all it throws is 111. I reset the computer as well and still does the same thing, it's totally random.

Any ideas what could be going on here?

Thanks

-Adam

Adam, that is really odd. is your 92 an atx or mtx? (im honestly not sure if the atx was offered in 92) is the intake grounded properly? its such an easy thing to overlook. have you checked the bolts on the crossover tube? the grounding strap? its tough to think of what else it could be.

He drives an MTX. ATX's were made from 93 up. And he also stated that he worked on his "clutch" in the first paragraph. :D

I agree, check the connections of every sensor, the DIS, and make sure u don't have any vacuum or intake leaks, etc. Just start with simple things like that and go from there.

Well I've been meaning to get a new grounding strap for the intake since mine is kinda funky so I'll try that first as well as making sure the crossover tube is properly grounded/bolted. Thanks everyone and I'll let you know how it goes.

Do you mean that the KOEO test displays a "111" for both the hard faults and the memory codes? That would be four (4) "111" flash sequences, with the second two after the separator pulse. If the CHECK ENGINE light came on, there should be at least one non-"111" code in the memory section.
