Learnin' the SHO
A while back my CEL was flashing at me intermitently so I checked the codes. Came up with 332, something with the EGR. After reading up, I decided that what was needed to be done was to clean the EGR nostrils.
So, today, me and my dad set up for the cleaning and we were checking other things under the hood. We came across the two small hoses or rubber tubes on the underside of the EGR sensor and it turns out one of them was completely broken. I was hard to spot because it was a clean break and we wouldn't have noticed it if he had not checked it for tightness.
So, my dad replaced it, thinking that was the problem and turns out it was. No more CEL flashing at me while I drive. Man was it annoying.
Later I will clean the nostrils, just for prevenative maintenance. But it will be done when the valve cover gaskets and plug seals are put on probably next week.
