My recently purchase 93 w/JBL system worked fine when I bought it. Now, if there is no cd in the unit, it keeps looking for one, even if you try to play the radio. Pop in a disk and it is content. Looks like I gotta keep a disk in there for the time being, if I wanna listen to the radio. If you turn the entire system off. It does stop looking for the disk. I guess there's a problem with the sensor which detect a disk's presence. Anybody ever see this problem ?

I had the same problem with my 94 Mustang radio. The CD Player has a switch just inside the box. This switch has ALWAYS been fragile. Ford has a replacement switch for it, but it is just as fragile. Mine broke twice. I took the CD player out and sent to a local repair shop and he charged me $30 to put in a better switch. I popped it back in and it is still working now after 3 years. My suggestion in to take it out and let a reputable radio repair shop fix it. They will clean it too.
