Every now and then, my display will dissapear, if I turn it off, then back on.. its fine. Also, the buttons for the FF, and REV.. aws or something.. I forget what it says on there... have no backlighting. How hard is it to replace those bulbs, leds or whatever they are in there?

Also.. the ground that slides onto the back of the headunit... is that a piggybacked ground that should be tied to something else? I just ran a ground wire between the 2 chassis of each.. radio / cd player. My car origionally had a 10 disc changer in the trunk so I'm not so sure I have all the wiring for it. Wonder if thats part of the problem with the cd player is if its not grounded well .. ?

Well like I said, my other setup I think was missing a connector for the radio / cd setup i'm using now. Maybe I should tie another ground to the one between the 2 units? This car just demands my attention sometimes... :)

Maybe I'm just the king of taking the easiest way out of trying to solve problems like that but if you put alot of effort into trying to find the problem and can't figure it out, can't you just pick up a new stock CD player off Ebay for 20 bucks and plug it right in?

Then again, you're probably more mechanically inclined than me and are able to troubleshoot electronics. I'd just replace it---I know more expensive but with this car you gotta pay to play.

Its not hard to change the bulbs, if you remove the cd slave. The face has 6 screws that hold it on, 1on top,1 on bottom, and 2 on each side. Remove those the face should slide off. Then from there its pretty easy to work on.

As far as the ground there is a ground that runs from the headunit to the cd slave. Here is a couple pics. Here is a pic of the cable that runs from the back of the headunit to the cd slave with the ground attached.

And this is the power cable that goes to the headunit and cd slave for those that had the optional cd player.
