I have a 93mtx and I have recently gone through my third ccrm. The first one was replaced from the previous owner in 2003 and then I got one from a junk yard then discount auto. The problem that I am having is symptoms similiar to a bad CPS. I have changed that. But what keeps happening is there is only one wire going bad on the module, that is the power going out of the box that powers the fuel injectors and the MAF and coil I believe. Each time, the car bucks and the check engine light goes on and off and then it stalls and dies. All I have to do is splice a wire into the red, power going out, wire and connect it to the positive battery terminal. It will then start and run.
I believe that there is something that is drawing to much power from the module. It only messes up the one wire and every other wire works and has the right wattage coming in and out of the module. I have looked at the schematics to figure out why it didnt start the first time.
Any help would be great and I couldnt find anything like this any where else on the forum.
thanks. craig.

That red wire does indeed power the FIs and MAF. Also the canister purge valve and the IRMC control.

Perhaps the canister purge valve is shorted or the coil for it is drawing too many amps? Try disconnecting it to see if the problem goes away.

Actually you should put an amp meter in line with your splice then disconnect it to see what the amp draw is then what the greatest drop is as you disconnect devices.

Might be stupid , but did all those ccrms were matching the big red letter on it , from the original one.

Many models were made and some are not interchangeble...

actually two of them are the right ones but the only one that works on it now is the one made for a 3.2L. I found out that a fuse was blown and now the ccrm is not failing anymore but I am still having the bucking issue. But now the starter wont stop starting. So I cant drive it untill I fix the starter issue. But I am getting the right voltage from all of the wires now.

The starter solenoid sounds like its seized.

I love electrical problems, Get the parts from ford, They may not be cheap but it solves alot of issues with non-ford parts working together.

Well, I took the starter to autozone where i bought it and they tested it and found that it works perfectly. This also tested the solenoid. So now the car has a new ignition switch, new starter with solenoid, new battery cables and terminals and it still wont stop starting. Although I did randomly find a tiny red female plug just hanging under the drivers side dash near the clutch pedal. It has a red a black wire and little red plug at the end. It was zipped tied together to hold all of the slack and it just goes up into the dash. I hope this is attached to the ignition somewhere, but I can't see where it would plug into. It is one thing after another with this car.
