Started the my 3.2. Started easily after enough gas in tank. It acts like high in timing. [slow/draggy starter, belch thru intake once, no throttle response] I know how to set timing in a distributor type. What can cause this in the 3.2? I ran it 3 times for 30sec or less. Only thing I found after shutdown is fuel on top of fuel regulator. So going to replace it next time. [ dark outside now] Could that be a issues? definitely fixing it.
Any idea's, wiring issues. Didn't run long unknown if can pull codes. Thanks all. Maurice
Some info. Motor out of a 94, Now in a 93 Mustang converted to RWD. I did install new timing belt. Lined up the marks as marked on belt and instruction in repair manual. Could I somehow get that wrong?

Did you align the CORRECT lines up on the timing belt? There is one for the 3.0 and the 3.2. Also, which timing components did you go with? That would make a difference in your choice on the belt as well.

The SHO's ignition system is all electronic. It has a knock sensor that detects ping and retards timing accordingly. I would look into making sure your cam timing is correct, as well as clean plugs, proper plug wire routing, no vacuum leaks and proper fuel pressure.

Im gonna say Clay has it right on the correct timing marks. I did this last time i did my front 60k. But i noticed it before i even finished.

The fuel leaking out of the Reg. shouldn't cause this unless its a MAJOR leak. Mine leaked a little for some time due to a crap crush washer. I ended up getting a oil drain plug kit for a 200x powerstroke with the right size crush washer for one of the sides (i think on bottom).

Thanks for the idea's. I will double check the belt timing. The fuel reg is leaking at the top seem to be where it is crimped together. Hopefully get in from work early so I can work on it. I will get a video of it done soon. Still pretty good I think since motor has not run in years. Maurice

I hear you. What I was told the j-yard had the car 3 years. We started it in the yard, I bought it and has sit 3 or 4 years. Also I am using a self created 93 modified to SHO wiring harness etc. So I was well pleased. I just got thru checking the belt. It was correct. But acted odd when I started it [high rpm]. My experience vacuum leak. I took my boost tested and found leaks in the intake to engine mount. [Remember my intake is rotated and has spacers. I reused some SHO gaskets. [Read somewhere reusable] I guess not in my instance. I have cut some gaskets and later one going to reassemble. Supper break. Thanks Maurice
Got it running. Had major vacuum leak. Still acts high in timing in starting. But still running on old plug, wires etc. Maybe starter is draggy.

Got some new Motorcraft plugs in it today. [Autoparts had to order] Old ones were Bosch platinium they have the apperance of black fouled. New ones in and car starts without very much on starter. Well pleased now. Now can start tiding up wiring, hoses etc and deal with oil filter location. Looks like will have to order dual remote oil filter. Thanks all for help. Maurice
Edit; In case someone wants to how how I found vac leak. I used this. I put on throttle body and use just 5psi or less and it showed quickly.
Showed hooked to piece of my intercooler pipe on my 89 2.3 turbo.

What's your exhaust setup - headers to tail pipe?

Right now all there is headers. Plans are for a Y and single exhaust. Was going to be dual but see and listen to many sound clips here on duals. Maurice

Keep us posted on your muffler choice. I'm planning on single exhaust also.
