My cats are shot and i want to know what other set ups i can concider besides replacements. Also if i buy replacements what is a good cat for performance and money?
cats are going...waht are my options?

Thats one option, you could also remove them. Or you could go with a replacement from shoshop.com. I think they were gonna do a y pipe group buy? shrug

I thought SHO shops Y-pipe was only for the MTX. Going off his sig he has an ATX, I didn't think they made aftermarket Y-pipes for ATX's.

Eliminating the catylitic converters is illeagle if you are driving the car on public roads. If it is a race car, used off-road, you can legally drive it without the cats on the racetrack.
It does not matter whether you live in a state that does emission testing, it is a violation of Federal law to TAMPER with ANY of the cars emissions equipment or its working perameters.
Any modification parts, such as "chips" or MAFS, must have EPA approval for use on the make, model, and year automobile, or it cannot be Sold or used, legally.
On top of all this, States have added their own criminal violations for "tampering" with the emissions systems of automobiles. Some State's laws even provide for the siezure of the automobile.
Get a Borla "cats-back" exhaust system, or its equivalant, if you want to legally drive it on the public roads. Otherwise, trailer it to the track and back.

Now dont **** me... wink Have you tried asking an exaust shop? Maybe they could hook you up with something? Maybe take off the old cats and put some new one on?

You can try this site for a replacement stock Y pipe: http://www.discountconverter.com/converters/ford/ford_direct_fit.cfm. I don't see a listing for the automatic/3.2 engine. At approx. $283 I also don't know if it would be cost effective even if they had it but it's an option you may want to look at.
