Car won't start,odd clicking noise behind dash

Yesterday morning my 1990 SHO wouldn't start, the engine wouldn't even turn over, and I heard this strange clicking noise coming from behind the dash. I didn't have any problems starting the car the before that. It was after the car had been parked overnight and it was the first time I was starting it that day. Any idea's guys? I had never heard the sound before.

Just tested the battery and it read as having 12.88 volts.

May be the starter. When mine went out it gave no warning. I went into the bank and when I came out it wouldnt do anything. Tried it after work and it fired up. I would check all the connections first. At the battery and starter. If still nothing then have a helper try and start it while you tap the starter with a hammer.

As stated, check your connections first, then the starter solenoid on the inner fender, and then the starter.

Either dead/bad battery or clean the terminals.
