Well, I was starting to feel left out, over a year with no CEL.

So I was driving along and I go over a speed ****, not a bump. I have the clutch in and I'm slowing down, as soon as the rear tires come down off the **** the rpm's dip down to about 400-500RPM and the oil light(the red one) flutters and she dies. So I try to start it back up and its flooded, so I just put the pedal to the floor and fire it up, works like charm, drive it about a mile to a parking lot with no issues. Pulled the maf sensor and took off. Pull out to the light and she dies, fires back up just fine. This has happened a few times now and the check engine light popped on the first time around.

I don't have any performance loss at all. Just when you let it idle, SOMETIMES it will die.

111 System checks OK - System check good
157 (R,M) Mass Air Flow signal is/was low or grounded - MAF
- unplugged the maf sensor
528 (M) System shows voltage at pin 10 (is A/C on ?) or pin 30 (PNP, CPP switch) - PNP - a/c on while testing?
542 (O,M) Fuel pump open, bad ground or always on - - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits
- car stalled

at least I got two good codes :)

Anyways, the one code is from me pulling the maf and ther other is system check all good. 528 confuses me, the A/C was off, fans off. 542 seems to stem from the voltage issue and causing the fuel pump to crap out.

I also just had my exhaust tack welded to hold everything in place. Before that the rod bearings. Honestly everything was great after the rod bearings, just an exhaust leak that I had fix and then had everything tacked, left there and thats when the problems started.

If you have the a/c on while pulling codes you will get 528. You get code 542 because the car stalls.

A/C is off for sure.

The reminds me, I sometimes hear a damn clicking sound behind the dash, possibly related to the A/C? Maybe the computer thinks its always on? The compressor isn't kicking on or anything. I think its the blend door tho. Everything will still function when I hear the clicking, just won't get cold air until it stops.

So, not even one of those codes points to a problem?

Just went and tried, but it didn't come on. The fan does come on, it was kicking on when I pulled the maf and you can hear it during the KOEO. I have no problem with heat while driving with the A/C on.

Well, that's odd, the codes are gone now(Check engine light is off).

Not sure, but I just went for a drive and not a single problem... hmmm..

I will have to grab one tomorrow and drop it in if the problem happens again.

well, guess I will posted in the wanted section, $85 + $40 premium for the 94-95 on shosource. Why do I always feel so ripped off on some of the parts there? Hit the drop down and BAM! A for $40 price hike for the 94-95. Was going to shell out the $85 to buy it too. BS, thats what it is!

Back in Michigan ... again.
My 93 ATX would sometimes do that. Never did find the specific problem, though I did eventually develop a stumble/loss of power that ended up being a failing MAF. Since replacing the MAF my low idle/stumble hasn't come back, and that was about 2 years ago. I should note that cleaning the MAF didn't help; the sensor itself was bad.

I suspect this is maf related, I left the maf unplugged for the rest of the day. When I plugged it back in and went for a drive everything was fine.

I'm going to pay attention to the fan if it happens again, but I am pretty sure it was one last time it died.
