I started car revs were fine. As I drove out I noticed when i hit the gas a little and let off the revs would buck a bit. When I came to the stop sign all was fine. I got on the gas and it stalled out. Could restart it with only full applications of throttle, had to keep revs above 1,500 rpm in order to keep it from stalling out, resulting in a chirp from making the engine engage at a high rpm but it was the only way i could get the car moving without it dying on me. So what is going on?

You might try cleaning the IAB as per the procedure on SHOtimes. Sounds like it might be sticking. If that isnt the case, check to ensure your TPS voltage is correct (.98 volts @idle, no dead spots as you advance the throttle, this can be done with the key on, but the engine off). The fact that it is only an idle problem suggets IAB is sticky and/or failed.

I hope for your sake it isnt what happened to me, it started exactly the same, it will continue to get worse. Cleaning the IAB wont hurt but made no difference with my SHO, a Cylinder Balance test should be done if you can get it in test mode while on.

Does it at least rev high past 4,000RPM? Mine would go past 5000-5500RPM when this all happened.

When i was in drive leaving school, I didnt rev past 1,500 rpm. I didnt even get the atx into second, I was going through a parking lot. I got to a stop sign and the idle was fine. As I got on the gas it stalled out. I had to open the throtlle all the way to get it to start up. And if I let off the throttle and put it into drive the car would die. The only way I could get it to go is buy keeping revs at 2000 rpm and enganging into drive(very nasty). When i got to the next stop sign it was fine. It hasnt done it today so I dont know whats goin on here.

I think you mean CPS. CID will not cause the tach to drop. That is usually the CPS.

According to the thread I guess it could be the CID. I myself have only witnessed these symtoms and the culprit was the CPS everytime. Thanks for the info man thumbs_u
