I was the one who posted the bogging out and fluctuating idle thread a few days ago I got the car now and changed the MAF and reset the idle and now it idle's fine. But from 1000-2500/3000 RPM's the car will bog out or cut out if I give it anymore then like 1/6th - 1/4th pedal. Once it gets to about 2500-3000 rpm's you can press the pedal half/full no problem and it seems to pull fine and not cut out.

I tried changing the TPS because I got a code saying it was not good when I used my scanner but that didn't help.

If anyone has any idea it would be a great help.

Thanks, Ryan

Check the vacuum operated system on the intake manifold that opens the secondary (short) intake runners. It sounds like your short runners may be open all the time, which is not right. A search should find recent threads on the subject.

That's exactly what I was thinking I'm just not sure of what would make them stay stuck open all the time?

I know where the lines go to from the secondaries if one had a split and leaked would it cause to stay open or stay closed?

Would I have to take the intake apart to get at the secondaries and "work them back into submission" because they might have been stuck open for a long time?

Basically what types of things should I look for to start my trouble shooting.

Thanks for all the help guys

If the hoses are backwards at the canister I believe it will also result in open runners.

Ok so this morning I was checking out the secondaries vacuum hoses and I noticed the one that goes to the secondaries on the front of the engine had about a 8mm circled hole in it under the IAC right before the T where the three hoses connect. So I wrapped electrical tape around the hose in a spiral to cover the hole nice and tight.

I'm pretty sure those hoses don't have any more leaks and that the secondaries are working correct now.

It definetly helped a slight bit because now I could go down a road doing 40 in 5th gear and I could push the pedal just a little bit and it wouldn't cut out.

I had a friend sit in it while it was in neutral just in the driveway and give it gas it cuts out quick and sometimes catches it's self and the secondaries open at the right time and they are opening and closing so they seem to be working correctly.

But like I said it is still not right if you give it half throttle if ure below 2000 rpm's it will just cut out not stall or anything but just not accelerate. ( I can make a video if needed)

I used my scan tool and this is what I got.

122- Throttle Position (TP) sensor
- Signal voltage is too low.
I swapped the TPS with my other car and it didn't change anything and it still shows the code\

112- Air Charge Temperature (ACT) sensor - signal voltage is too low.

This is where the beeps got confusing and I got this out of it..

2 1 2 2 2 2 (Usually it repeats it's self but it did these two in a row only once)

If these are codes it trying to tell me

212-Loss of ignition Diagnostic Monitor (IDM) Signal - short to ground in spark output (SPOUT) Circuit.

222- Distributorless Ignition System (DIS) problem - Loss of right side Ignition Diagnostic Monitor (IDM) signal.

If any of these are related to my cutting out before secondaries kick in let me know please. Thanks for all your continuing help if you have questions let me know I'll be checking this often and I'll let you know. Also if anyone wants/needs a video I could make one today sometime.
