car acting weird

My car is acting strange i just changed the wires and spark plugs and it still has a miss and the tach says its idling at 500 and when completely floored only goes to 2500 and it also pings sometimes when floored. i made sure everything was plugged in and its all correct so im stumped. any ideas on what it could be would be appreciated.

Any chance you followed the plug wire routing in the Chiltons manual?

If so, one of the two diagrams in the Chiltons is wrong. Make sure your plug wires are routed as in this graphic:

yes the they are right i called cinncinatti sho for that because when i first hooked it up it crossfired. then when i fired after i fixed that it still fells like a miss and the tach is way off so i am stumped.

Concentrate on the DIS module, its grounding path, and the ignition coil module connector.

This probably isn't it, but what kind of wires did you get? Motorcraft? Also what kind of plugs?

The wires are from bosch i got from autozone and plugs are from ford and the check engine light isnt coming on. where is the dis module located at.
