Is the short hose supposed to be capped. When I look at the parts list illustration it shows a washer and a cap on the short hose running from the pump itself. Mine as none and it also shows a p0411 or something code. It is running. Thanks for help.

I hear the pump and feel the pump running. Does this means the relay is good? Also I don't hear the whine. Just putter of air coming out. Maybe the pump is bad. I don't know. My cel burned out I've had this problems for so long. ********.

The short hose is the intake hose. If it is running all the time the relay has failed and is shorted out.

No it only runs for a few seconds. I thought if the relay is bad it won't run at all. I'm still getting the p0411 and I'm fed up. Big time. I have another relay but I put it in and it ran for the same amount of time. I didn't check the code when I switched but I figured that wasn't thr problem. Can the pump be bad and still run?

It may also be the solenoid located up at the drivers side of the rear head. Or the hose may be kinked.

Obstructions in the pump or line are pretty common, which reduces flow and causes codes. Try blowing it out with some compressed air.
