I finally got around to finishing my mtx tranny and am trying to get the throw out bearing actuation fork off of it's shaft. I have removed the screw and soaked it in wd-40 over night. got up this morning and started driving on it with a hammer, I turned it 3/4 of the way around and back but I can not get it to move up or down. while driving it down I have hit it hard enough to bend the prong on one of the forks, yet it still hasn't moved down. so I am thinking i will order a new fork and I am trying to locate some MAP gas and burner and some PBblaster. but I am worried that even if I get it off I will not be able to use the shaft. if that doesn't work could I cut it off some how. any other Ideas I would appreciate them. thanks.

Clutch replacement kits come w/ the replacement bushings. You can do whatever damage to them that you want. :nut:

I struggled w/ my 13yr old never-been-opened tranny/clutch assembly and eventually it came off without damaging everything.

However, my clutch experience wasnt a good one so my mind is sorta blocking it out now...

You need to hold the fork and lift and twist the release lever. I wouldn't even think of hammering on it.

you have to understand that I tryed that first. it doesn't twist at all it is on there hard. I had to drive it back and forth just to get it to turn wre it is now. i have it soaking in pb blaster now and i tried prying up against the lever to use the case to push it off and even hammered against that but it doesn't budge. so next step is to find some mapp gas.

i finally got it off. and the shaft looks good still. I endded up putting a propane torch to it and then pried up against the lever with a breaker bar and drove it with a hammer and it drove right off.
