I'm trying to reinstall it and I don't see anything on the engine interferring with it. I tried looseing the hoses/clamps but it still wont fit on flush. Sometimes a few of the bolt hols will line up and sit flush but if I push the other side down it will just rock back and forth. When I pulled up the maniflold there were metal shavings around the little alignment pegs. Any help would be appreciated.

Since I think you are installing the intake with new clamps you need to make sure the clamps and hoses are loose. Then line up a couple bolt holes and slowly engage a few threads on one bolt. Then try and do the same as far away as possible and continue to do so until you have every bolt in. You might need to tighten down some bolts more then others as you go.

Yea man, if you got the silicone ones SHO Source sells, you'll have a little fun putting it together the first time. :) I used some cooking oil on the couplers so they would move around nice and easy, and left all the clamps off. A lot of times that intake will hang up on the fuel rail too.

Maybe try getting the front 3 started, and then work on getting the rear 3 lined up... as long as you get those 12 bolts in the holes, and nothing is crazy tweaked, it should pull itself down ok. Then tighten your clamps, and then the next time it should just drop right on.

And nothing against the SHO Source guys... but the set I had, I ended up trimming a little off a few of mine to get them to fit. No biggie, but you may need to do that too a little. Also warm those things up... they flex and move a lot easier when they're warm.

If no one tells us we don't know to fix it. :)

Which ones did you trim and to what? We have made some changes over time.

The large one near the throttle body, for starters.

It's about 1/8th" to 3/16th" too long.

Thanks. I think I shortened that one on the last batch, but I will test a new set next time I do an intake installation to verify the change is correct.

When I ordered a set (a while ago), the two couplers from the crossover tube to the tanks were about 3/16" too long... had an absolute ***** of a time getting it bolted down.

I am almost positive the crossover couplers are shorter now. I will verify with a recent set of couplers to make sure everything is tuned up for length.

Thanks

Mike
