Is there a way that I could jack up the front end or the back end to release it from the pressure. This occured because I have a slight hill where I parked the car. The car has been sitting for a while and I forgot to put on the emergency brake. I need to get this done so I can see about drive problems that I had before the car sat.

Thanks,
Jason

Get a couple of guys to get on the downhill side of the car and push it uphill so you can relieve the tension on the drive train.

Otherwise, if you jack up the front, that would also work.

Is there a strong place that won't mess anything up if I jack it up in the front?

Thanks,
Jason

I use the head of the rear SFB bolts for my jacking point with a floor jack.

Make damned sure you set the e-brake and chock the rear wheels.

You might need to raise both fronts off the ground, I don't know.

It's not even much of a hill, it is just because last time I parked it there was a while back. Since then I started it 1-2 times a week, got my sound system working properly, and checked the tranny a couple times. Last time I guess when I put it into park from drive it rolled forward just enough that I couldn't get it out of park. So now I have to jack it up because I don't want to ask my dad for help since he just got home like 30 min ago(he works 2nd shift at GM) and I don't want to ask my mom since she already has to take me somewhere at 7:30 am tomorrow.

Well I got my dads help and pushed the car back, wouldn't work. So we got out their car and pushed it with the front bumper, as far as it would go w/o breaking something. Still wouldn't budge, what else could be the problem to not let the tranny out of park. I just moved it like a week ago.

Thanks,
Jason

Check to see if your brake lights are working. If not, then your BOO (Brake On/Off) switch is not functioning. If that is the case, turn the key to the "OFF" position (between lock and on) and you should be able to move the shifter. DO NOT drive the car in that condition, because you will not have brake lights!

You were right about the brake lights not coming on. But what do you mean by between lock and on? Do you mean where the AC comes on (one click before the starter comes on)? So far I have diagnosed the problem, but how do I fix it?

Do you have an owner's manual? There's a procedure in there for this situation. Anyway, turn the key to the on position (not off), put the car in neutral, then start the car. You then obviously need to replace the brake switch.
