Anyone know where I can find a CELO (Cold Engine Lock Out) Switch (a.k.a. Temperature Control Lockout Switch) for my '95 ATX? Mine is broken @ the connector & the part is discontinued by Ford. I've tried everywhere but it's discontinued from everyone. (Including Ford, Rock Auto, etc) I tried crossing it to another manufacturer but had no luck.
Here are the part #'s:
Ford p/n: E8OY18D371B
Motorcraft p/n: YG374

I'm ok w/ a used one if you have one! This is the sensor located between the engine & the firewall that locks out the A/C Compressor until the engine is warmed up. Thanks!

There is no way in **** that you're going to find one of those that I know of. Somebody should find out what resistances mean what, as I bet you the CELO switch is the same as the ECT sensor. You should just try sticking an ECT sensor in there and see if it works. Other than that, the junkyard is about the only option...

Just stick a jumper in the harness and then either learn to take the wind chill like a man or to wait until the coolant is hot until you turn the blower on, just like we used to.

I'll look later today, as I think I have at least two of these (used).

I might be able to get a NOS switch, but the Dealer List I have for the CELO is $74.16 . . . .

Let me know Storm Chaser, I would appreciate it. I did some checking further & found one on Amazon.com of all places?? They want like $45 for it though. I'm fine with a used one though!
Thanks

Okay, I've found several sources for the NOS switch, but none in-state (as of yet). As soon as I find out how many are available and where, I'll get some prices with shipping.

All you need is a simple normally open thermostatic switch. This circuit is a grounded input to the EATC so there is no high current involved. I would guess the CELO switch is 1/2" NPT?

Get something generic that switches at around 120F. Or you could get the fan control switch from Flex-i-Lite FLX-31147 and use it. It would just slip under the heater hose at a ******. These aren't that expensive and are also adjustable. Just run a wire to the CELO connector to the wire that goes to the EATC and the other to a ground.

Yes, I found about a half-dozen, ranging in price from $40 and shipping, to $70+ and shipping (yet, right!). The switches are OEM or Motorcraft NOS parts.

I can also get a used switch, but it's a gamble as to how long it will work. If there's any other OEM stuff you'll need, let me know and that will help lower your per-item cost for shipping.

In the interim, as soon as the vents are blowing warm enough air for you, you can manually override the switch by manually rotating the fan rheostat on the EATC to high, which will increase the heater motor output in a few seconds.

Any luck StormChaser on finding a switch?
