Im going to install a new camshaft position sensor and was wondering is it as easy as just removing the old sensor and plugging in the new sensor or do you need any special tools or do you have to find top dead center before installing it ? Thanks for the help.

Easy as pie as long as the bolt is not froze. Once done disconnect the battery for a few seconds to reset the ECU.

Yes indeed. Should not take more than 5 minutes as it is so easy to get to.

Are you getting a code? May be the wiring.

I did get a code and it reset itself twice, and once before it reset I got a code for camshaft sensor. But the other day I was driving on the interstate and the car starting wanting to shut down but kept on running so i figured it was the camshaft sensor. any other suggestions ? thanks

If the wire is shorting out to ground this may **** the motor as it would be a common 5V power from the ECU to all the sensors.

Are you electrically inclined? Have a Volt Ohm meter?

The engine will run without the sensor. It usually just takes a long time to start. Did you get the code read?

Where is the cam position sensor? Curb side/road side? I'm assuming it's on the front. I've had the intakes apart a few times, and I couldn't find it.
