Ok that is a tricky one. We are in the midst of somthing that may well pan out for all CURRENT owners. We (Tim and a lot of other folks) are still working on it.Mr Anonymous said:Probably not, as the plaintiff class most likely only consists of those who paid money (or lost money) out of their own pocket as a result of the cam problem. I haven't read the filings to see what constituted the class when it was certified, but that would spell out who is and is not considered a part of the class.
Larry probably knows for sure, and maybe he'll see this and chime in.
Get it welded. Whatever may or may not happen with the lawsuit doesn't change the risk of your motor going boom.jimtash said:My SHO has yet to be welded so what action should I take? If Ford is going to go ahead and take responsibility for the cam defect then I definitely think they should pay to have the car welded.
Do as Christ suggests. We are aways from getting to the table and you don't have the luxury of time. That ticking sound you may hear will not be the second hand on your watch - or maybe it will be. Time isn't your friend here.Mr Anonymous said:Get it welded. Whatever may or may not happen with the lawsuit doesn't change the risk of your motor going boom.
Even if in the end Ford does end up reimbursing people some portion of either the preventative (welding) or repair (replacement motor) expenses, I suspect that getting reimbursed for the welding will still be a better deal.
FWIW, NESHO will be in Warrenton, VA and Nashville, TN in late January for camfests. Depending on where you are in NC, one of those two locations would probably be convenient to you. More info is available at http://www.nesho.com
