Okay, so, I searched and all I could find is "What happens if my cam is busted?" and "Should I get it welded?" So, what I would like to know is, what are all of the symptoms of a spinning cam? Will there be any, or will it all of a sudden just stop running on me? I know that there is a certain noise that it will make. A tapping, like a sewing machine if I remember correctly. Anything else that will happen before my cam goes?

Many Times there is No Sound or Warning. You start the Car, The Cam Lets Go, and 4 Cylinders worth of Valves greet the pistons on the next few revolutions of the motor. The car Immediately runs like Crap, if it can still even run, and will not hold an idle unless you keep your foot in it.
A Sewing machine tapping, kind of Diesel like sound will be coming from the valvecover area beforehand f you are lucky enough to get a warning sound.

The moment it spins - it's Over. Get out the checkbook - this is gonna hurt a bit.

How much does it cost if the cam does go out on it, to get fixed?

That's a minus... At least I know what sound to look for now. Stupid Ford, they should really do something about this..... hint hint nudge nudge.

Last Camfailure I did ended up being right at $3500.00
Better Off getting a Whole Replacement Engine from Kirk at NESHO.com.
You never REALLY know until you pull the head off.

Engine =
$15,000 from Fud, and it's Unobtainium
Valves = $120.00 for 8 last time I bought them at Rockauto.com
Headgasket $160.00 IIRC
Headbolts ~$4.00 each?
Misc Gaskets = $250.00
Labor = Huge

If a Broken Valve Head is driven into the Piston, the engine is junked essentially.
