Alright guys i did a search and as much as i tried couldnt find any form of an illustration. Ive got a 93 mtx and i think my cam position sensor has finally bitten the bullet with just about other start turning over and over and over. I saw that SDpatt had at one time pics posted for this but i see they no longer work. What im getting at is does anyone have a pic of the part or better yet where its located on the motor before i tear into this? Im about to buy another sho within the week to drive while i tear greenbean down cuz its in desperate need of valve cover seals and i want to paint my intake.

One last question on this though, ive heard horror stories of the crank sensor biting the dust and leaving folks stranded...... do i have the same possible culprit with the cam sensor or does the car eventually start everytime? my reason for asking is cuz ive got to finish driving it this week and will be far from home on a couple of occasions and i dont want something bad to happen and me get to pay a lovely tow bill. Yalls help would be much appreciated.... i know similar posts have been on here time and time again but i couldnt find what im needing. Thanks guys, Karson

it's on the passenger side rear head closeset to the firewall. and if front of it is the strut tower. If your pulling the intake and valve covers off you might as well do it then. really easy to get to. But it can be done by pulling the cross tube and the front rear intake bracket to move the harness for extra clearence. It's a round black box with a plug in the top of it...Don't have a pic right now but could get one from my junk 3.2

Thanks, I finally found it and know where it is.... Now my second question is which do you take off to remove it: the 2 bigger bolts facing up towards the sky close the the motor or the ones on the side that are small facing the strut tower? Is there a concern that it could fail all together and then i cant get the car to start at all? If there is then i will go ahead and replace it before i bother with all the other stuff.

Cam Sensor:
5.5mm hex x2 screws. There are also 2x 8mm hex bolts in there that fasten the cam sensor's aluminum housing to the head. You only need to remove the 2x 5.5mm screws to get it out.

The ones on the top are 10mm hex bolts that are for the camshaft bearing caps, and you do not want to touch those.
