cam seals

how does the cam sensor seal come out? its down in the hole and not very easy to get to, it leaks and has to go. any ideas would be appreciated thanks

Follow www.shophoenixproject.com It's a good writeup with pics. I use a sharp center punch, and make 2 small holes on opposite sides, then thread in some machine screws (not far!), grab some plyers and pull. Make sure you use a little bit of RTV asround the outside diameter of the cam seal.:thumb:

When I did my cam seals I did the easy front one first. Used the old seal to make a Jig with two sheet metal screws in at 180 degrees. Slipped that over the nasty rear seal and ratchet the screws into the old rear seal. You don't need to worry about scratching the cam with this setup. Save your jig.
