Do I have to basically perform a front 60K to do the job? You know, remove the crank sprocket and all that?

Have to get the seals done this weekend and wondering what the easiest (SHO, yeah right!) way is.

Thanks!

Ya your going to need to remove all that stuff as well as the timing belt and cam sprockets etc.

The two cam seals behind the pulleys are usually much less prone to leakage than the one in the rear. They can probably wait until you are ready for a full 60K. The rear one can be changed without removing the cam belt. It will take some disassembly to gain enough clearance to work in there.

Can't I release the tension on the timing belt and remove it without taking the crank pulley off?

The best way to pull that rear one is to remove the valve cover and the first lash cap over the cam.

Ahhh, sounds like a winner! ****, I could have that intake of in 15 minutes!

Is it easier going in too or will that still be a PIA.

if you take the cam bearing cap off, it goes in really easy. if you have the installation tool, it goes in really easy. if you have neither of those, I have never successfully installed one (always destroyed the seal trying to install), so my advice is to do one of those 2 tricks.

I'm assuming the bearing cap and lash cap are the same thing.

I have to do a top 60K soon anyway, so I might as well just do everything all at once.
