i did the '96 upgrade on the driver's side with no problems but broke every bolt on the pass side. i went to napa, carquest, autozone and advance and no one has a caliper bracket bolt. even the ford dealer sold me a bolt way too long (#N808218-S101). this bolt is the right size and pitch. anybody know the correct ford part# or a place to get the right replacement. i need a 12mm x 1.75 x 30mm with a proper shoulder on the shank. i hate to go to the junkyard. TIA.

I got new ones from the dealer for a buck a peice... either they are out of them, or he didn't know where to look.

I'm assuming you mean the bracket to the knuckle bolts? You could shave them down too ya know if you had a grinder. Make it 30 mm ;)

my dealer wanted $11.80 each but i got them for 8.00 ea plus tax! i bought some used FN74 bracket from the shoforum classified but they came with bolts that are too long as well. i guess i can try to cut them off to 30mm.

if you have them look up a caliper bracket bolt for a 94' or 95' sho they sell them for like $12 for 4, i dont have the part number right now but I will post when i go home

Comes in a packet of 4. Ford part N807146-S103

This is correct. When you do the 96 upgrade on your gen I or II SHO, you must use the caliper bracket to knuckle bolts from the early style knuckles.
You DO NOT use the bolts from a 96-99 SHO. These are too long as you found out. This can also be where people are hearing a "grinding or squealing" sound when cornering. The longer bolt digs into the rotor on hard cornering. BTDT.;)

thanks for the part# but i got my money back from the stealership and cut the 96-99 bolts back to 30mm and everything is fine. i took it up the road to break in the pads (accerate to 60 moderate braking to 5mph repeat 5 times and let cool overnight) and after the 5th time i thought i was riding by a charcoal bbq! those raybestos pro grade ceramic pads were advertised to be pre seasoned from the factory. gonna do the rears next weekend and i may be breaking more bolts because i can hear both calipers draging when i take off cold in the morning. danz13, do you know the ford rear caliper bracket bolt part#? TIA

I dont what the rear bracket bolt numbers are, but make sure you blue loctite those caliper bolts because when they come off it wont be nice. When I took off my rears, the bolts were on there GOOD

I found the caliper bolts for the '96 upgrade in the HELP brand blister packs in my local O'Reilly Auto Parts store. They were two to a pack and only a few dollars. They are the correct grade and of sufficient strength to handle Carbotech XP10 pads and R-compound tires around Texas World Speedway's road course. :)
