Buzzing sound behind dash when opening/closing sunroof

hey guys.. I'm hearing a buzzing sound comming from behind the dash on the passenger side, very close to the glove box, everytime I operate the sunroof, either by closing it or opening it.

To close or open the sunroof I also have to push the button twice, if I just press once I can hear a "click" behind the dash on the same area as the buzzing, then if I press the button again the sunroof works but I hear the buzzing sound.

Have any ideas of what it might be??

Relay uh? Is that a small black box almost behind thr SHO emblem on the dash, like when you open the glove box it would be right up there?
I think I saw that type of box with a harness connected to it, would that be the one or got any pics of how it looks like?

Nope, it's to the right of the glove box. It's a small silver cube and it's a little further back inside the dash.

Doing a search I found that an Echlin relay part # AR284 seems would fit.

Issue fixed!! it took me overall 20 to 30 mins to change the relay including the part on taking off the glove box and putting it back together, piece of cake!

Did your old relay have a BMW logo on it?

yeah it did and it was exactly as you described, a silver cube.
I did some reading and it seems that's the factory relay Ford used. Weird to have a BMW part.

Yep, every one I have seen has that BMW logo relay. I would assume that the relay was supplied by the sunroof manufacturer (Webasto).
