I would go with a 60-1 turbo or 62-1 right off that bat that way when you do upgrade you wont have to go through selling one. I would believe these two turbos wouldnt be overkill at lower psi either so you dont have to worry about blowing the engine up. On a side note does toolman still have his old turbo? maybe you could buy his old one?

That would probably be alright. Should spool pretty quick and overspinning shouldn't be a problem if you don't try to run high boost. I like the turbonetics 60- series turbos myself but there are a few others that can produce the desired results. Just an FYI, the 62-1 is physically a much larger turbo than the 60-1 and you won't want to use the 62-1 if your planning a low boost setup.

That is a turbo you should put on a h22 honda prelude. I have a maxima with a 3.0 which is similar displacement to your motor. I have a t04b with a .63 a/r on the compressor, and a .81 on the turbine and its in a 55 trim i believe. Your top end will suffer greatly, but youll have great spool. I hope it isnt a turbo from xspower or ssautochrome though, seeing that you listed it has "Garrett internals".

If you look here you could find some good info in the stickys section.

Wow i just did a search and in 5 minutes i found about 30 threads on other forums about how they blew the turbo up in the matter of a day from these guys....

So any one know of any good used, or fair priced new ones....

haha, well its good thing that you didnt buy it though. Those are all things that you want from a reputable company, they control, regulate, and create boost, definately not something you want to skimp on. good luck with your project though.

Garrett T04B Turbocharger

Up for auction is a nice used Garrett T04B oil-cooled turbocharger. The a/r on the exhaust side is 1.15 and on the compressor side is .60. The Inlet on the compressor side is 3 inch and the outlet is 2 inch. The exhaust inlet is tang divided for fast spooling and has the standard T4 ****** as seen on most aftermarket turbo manifolds. The compressor wheel is a T trim and the exhaust wheel is a P-trim. The shaft spins freely and has no play. As you can see in the pics the turbo is in very nice condition. This turbo will produce over 400hp. Get it here cheap!

www.agpturbo.com = good decent priced turbos with good people to deal with. You can get a T3/T04E but make sure you get an .82+ A/R exhaust housing. THe AGP61 is a great turbo, will blow a 60-1 away in just about every way.
If it looks too good to be true, it is when it comes to turbos.
For most good turbos plan on spending at least $600-$700

if you want a nice turbo, and not a cheap one. call turbonetics directly and order what you want, you'll pay $800 for a conventional unit, but it will have good features. things to look for are 360 degree thrust bearings and dynamic balancing to name a few.
