I am giddy as a school boy!! DANG I missed this car. Took her out on the maiden voyage tonight. Set my Tweecer up with Josh's blower program, with my 3.2 displacement and 90mm MAF figured in. I still need to adjust for my 47lb injectors vs his 48. Got it aligned (dirty alignment in my garage) well enough to drive. It seems I have a p/s leak, and a pin hole in my radiator, but nothing to stop me from taking her for a test drive.

So, at first, before the Profec had learned the boost curve, it was real rough. Once I made a few part throttle runs, things starting looking up. Keeping an eye on my A/F, looks like I am way rich at idle and cruising (due in large part to the injectors), but at part throttle, as soon as boost starts building, she leans out real quick. I was seeing 12-13 right away, and if I stayed in it at 3/4 throttle, 14:1 would show. Also, whenever I let off the throttle, it zings up to 16:1 and there abouts for sec. Guess that is normal eh?

Anyway, my concerns about this turbo (62-1) being laggy are completely unfounded! It built boost VERY quickly, even with the .81 A/R. Since I never got to do a full throttle run, I do not know what my base boost looks like (not even sure of the spring setting on the Tial WG), but she goes to 5psi in an instant. From the little bit of 4th gear pulling I did, the feel of the turbo is VERY nice, as in its spool time and boost characteristics. I think I am going to like it very much. Way too much turbo for a stock 3.0, but I think this built engine, with the other mods, will like it very much. Plus, it was WAY more difficult to package.

Also, remember the Tial BOV my girlfriend (now fiancee!, more on that later) bought me. It sounds GLORIOUS!!!

So, I will be getting to know the Tweecer software intimately over the next few shifts at the fire station, and as soon as I feel comfortable making some changes, I will start playing with her to make it possible to do some WOT runs. As soon as I am happy with things, DYNO time!

All in all, very happy to be boosting again. Perhaps it is because I have been in stock SHO's for so long now, but this thing feels VERY quick, even at the 5 psi I was seeing. Can't wait to feel 15psi!!!

Well don't make the same mistake he did, sorry if this was covered some where else but I didn't see it as of yet..... Make sure you have really good crank case ventilation, we know what happened to his...... Don't need another SHO having that kind of problem. Sorry if that sounds stupid, but just thought before you go around pushing 15psi.
