i dont really know what to call them but there the lights that come on when the turn signals are turned on. not the amber turn signals, the ones that mount on the side of the bumper. im thinking of wiring them into the fog lights so that i have more light. is this illegal? i dont really see how i would get stopped seeing as modern car lights are so bright it would make the same effect.

i dont see the point in having the side lights on all the time...ive heard of some people actually wiring these to turn on when the reverse lights come on which IMO is a more useful function for these...

i think that would be a great idea. only i would run them on their own switch. for normal driving i wouldnt use them. only when im carving up the backroads at night :) i think it really would help your visability around the turns. i can think of a few times driving on an unfamiliar road w/ a curve comming up. sometimes very difficult to see around the bend, so ive actually turned on my turn signal and it did give me a noticable amount more light. but for normal street driving i think it would be dumb. sry i couldnt really help with how to do it, but just encouraging you to look into it. i like the idea.

My brother wired his 94's side markers into a switch and left them on accidentally and got a ticket for police immitation. I guess the officer felt that it wasn't OK although we never found a law that prohibited the use of them. I was also thinking of wiring mine up to come on when I want them to, but I was wondering if there is a brighter bulb? Does anyone know? RCSavage, I think you should do it if you want to because that is the only way you'll be able to tell if it works for you as a regular light.

the cornering lamp? why? are you looking sideways when you are driving?

Im sure hes not, but it will light up the road beside you. see more things at night, nothing scarier on a dark road with SHO headlights hahahahaha well mine atleast

I don't see the advantage- but I have a Gen 2, maybe the Gen 1's throw more light forward, but my car throws light directly beside me, and only in a real path of about 2 ft wide or so IIRC? Can't see how this would really do anything for driving. You're already passing up what you're lighting up. To each his own if it doesn't impair other drivers and confuse someone into thinking there is an oncoming car!

I can see why this may seem advantageous but you may want to try re-aiming your headlights first. If you adjust the left-right, you'll achieve want you want to do.
