Hey guys,
I have been posting a few times that I have problems when downshifting from 3rd to second using paddle shifters. This problem is only occurring randomly and has no relation if under WOT or not... I have had the TSB 11-5-6... but no improvement. Now today, I was accelerating a full WOT and the tranny had difficulty to shift from 1st to 2nd... when driving normally, it doesn't happen, but I tried a few times and it seems like the car has too much power, the tires start to spin at around 30mph and I need to remove foot from gas pedal for it to shift. That problem had already happened a few months ago, but never repeated.
Now, I don't know much about mechanic, so please don't laugh, but it seems to me, if I were to compare it to gears on a bicycle, that my second gear has broken teeth... That would explain the issues I have only with shifting to second (up or down)... But at the same time it is unlikely to be the cause, because when the problem occurs, it will do it for as long as I don't shut down the engine ... normally, when I restart it, the problem disappears...

So it is probably just an electronic problem and maybe TSB 11-8-21 (new version of 11-5-6) should fix it?

I am concerned that I can have it repaired under warranty if not with a TSB, because I have been flashing the car with tunes... but I swear the problem was there before... So, anyone of you considering flashing your car, you should make sure that it is running properly before... I truly doubt that the Livernois tunes would have that effect on the tranny... I would be the first and only one.
Thank you for taking the time to explain to me what you think could be the issue (speed sensor, worn U-joint, transmission fluid pressure, etc.), because the feeling I get really corresponds to the equivalent of broken teeth on the second gear if that makes any sense.
Thanks again!
Steve

Automatic transmissions have no similarities to bicycle gearing whats so ever. Gears in automatic transmission are always meshed together, gears are changed thru clutches and brakes on planetary drive to switch gears. While I don't have a answer on why your not shift for 1st to 2nd under WOT, I am assume this have when manually shifting only. I think this problem is still in valve body calibrations and transmission programing. Is there any problem shifting automatically under WOT?

This problem of not being able to shift from 1st to second had already happened once a few months ago, but never until yesterday... At that time, I was running stage 2 or 4, not sure anymore and now 4+... The feeling is that at one point, I feel like the car has 800hp and it is too much for the tires to handle so the wheels want to spin, but the front of the car just jump repeatedly and the acceleration is too fast and bumpy for the tranny to be able to shift... What is bizarre is that the previous day I had no issue at all, so it cannot be that the tires are worn and finished over night...
I tried it again going to the grocery and it was still doing it (and with the custom exhaust, I almost heard sound like back fire... not cool). I tried manually or auto and same issue.
So, I put it back to stock... The car feels slower (but still fast) and it had not problem to shift under WOT and no problem neither when down shifting.
I am going to drive it stock a few days and go back to stage 4+ to see if the stage 4+ is the issue... I will also call Rick to discuss about it... I don't know, maybe he can send me the file again, or modify something in it... It seems to me that it is an electronic problem.
I will keep y'all informed...
Thanks!
